If you are nearing the end of your lease term on your Honda, Neil Huffman Honda of Frankfort would like to assist you in following these simple steps as you prepare to turn in your leased vehicle.  

Steps To Turning In Your Leased Honda

Follow these simple steps to return your Honda and lease a new one.

Six months before your final payment, visit with the friendly staff at Neil Huffman Honda of Frankfort for help selecting your new Honda and to explore the current offers from Honda Financial ServicesSM (HFS). We will help you determine your options and show you new Honda models if you’re interested in purchasing or leasing another Honda.

Honda lease returns in Frankfort and Lexington, KY

Approximately two to three months before your lease is up, contact the HFS Lease Maturity Center to discuss the process for returning your vehicle and ask if you qualify for Honda Loyalty benefits.

You will also need to schedule your end-of-lease vehicle inspection through SGS Auto at this time. You can schedule your lease inspection online by visiting SGSAuto.com or call 1-800-340-4080. Please have your Honda Financial Services account number and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) available.

Before the inspection, the vehicle should be as clean as possible -- inside and out -- so the inspector can judge the true condition of the vehicle. You should remove all personal items from the vehicle -- even child car seats. Inspectors will not move or remove any items from the vehicle. You should have all keys, manuals, accessories and service records present.

It is recommended that you be present during the inspection. SGS inspectors will need the keys to start your vehicle and to test all the vehicle’s functions. Upon completion, the inspector will print an inspection report and review the results with you. He will also give you a copy of the report for your records. Shortly afterwards, you will also receive a Preliminary End-of-Lease Statement showing the estimated costs of any excessive wear-and-use or damage, excess mileage and other charges. No charges will be made to your account until after the vehicle has been turned in.

Some wear and tear is always expected, and your Honda Leadership Lease includes an Excessive Wear-and-Use or Damage Waiver. However, you are responsible for any wear or use that exceeds the waiver. If the inspection report identifies damages that exceed the waiver, you can repair those damages before lease return to avoid the charges for those damages. If you make repairs, be sure to contact Honda Financial Services for information on reporting those repairs to avoid the charges at the return of your vehicle. When you turn in the vehicle, you will also be responsible for any outstanding payments, excessive miles and any other outstanding obligations specified in your lease agreement.

One week before the end of your lease, contact Neil Huffman Honda of Frankfort at 502-385-0157 to make an appointment to return your leased Honda vehicle. Be sure to bring any remotes or keys, the owner’s manual, service records, your Vehicle Return Receipt, a copy of the Vehicle Inspection Report and receipts for any completed repairs performed.

After you’ve returned the vehicle to us, you need to contact the Lease Maturity Center at 800-708-6555 to inform them that you have returned your vehicle.

If all payments have been made, your call will initiate the completion process for your lease account, and you will no longer receive a regular monthly billing statement. If you have payments remaining on your account, you are responsible for making them.
